In the beginning, the Blues were a combination of slave songs sung in the fields as they worked, spiritual songs and tails of hard times. As the blues progressed during the post World War II area, the music moved away from it's acoustical roots and began to adopt a more vibrant electrical sound that appealed to both blacks and whites.

The term Blues means a depressed mood or state of mind, causing a feeling of melancholy and or sadness brought on by the Blue Devils.
